Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix had an early aptitude to play sports while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic potential at the moment. After just 10 weeks of her first race, Felix placed second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set the Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 second. She was the youngest to win the 200 meter during the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record once again in 2007, defeating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix took part in the Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three of her events.
